Preparing for Emergencies

The Cheyenne County Animal Disaster Rescue Team was organized in 1997, under the auspices of Region 21 Emergency Management, in Sidney, Nebraska to educate people about preparing disaster plans that include their animals. Many people are aware of the need to prepare for severe weather events, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, but the fates of their animals are often overlooked. Since this is an agricultural area and includes the raising of livestock as well as an almost universal pet ownership, our organization attempts to provide information to guide people in preparing for emergencies for the many kinds of animals found here.

Please feel free to click on the links provided to learn as much as possible to protect the animals, as well as yourselves. Also, please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions.
